Co-Owners and Innkeepers, Lisa Marie Ayres and John Ayres first came to the Franklin Grove area many years ago to visit Nachusa Grasslands. Having fallen in love with the prairie flora and fauna, they decided to make roots by purchasing a small farm and prairie outside of Franklin Grove in 2010.
Driving through town one fall afternoon in 2013, Lisa saw that the beautiful Victorian home at 409 N. State was for sale. After seeing the inside of the 1912 home, speaking with the Village of Franklin Grove leadership, learning of the townís wishes for a bed & breakfast, and obtaining the variance to operate, the purchase was made and the reimagining began.
Originally from Monroe, Wisconsin, with Swiss family heritage in New Glarus, and John, from rural Naperville, the country and love of nature inspires them both. With a bachelorís degree in recreation administration from UW-LaCrosse and a masterís degree in public administration from Norwich University, Lisa is passionate about creating memorable, quality of life experiences for individuals and communities.
Since 2009, following eleven years with the USO of Illinois, Lisa works for a company specializing in preservation of history with particular focus on architecture and military history. Lincoln Way Innís restoration is a testament to the meticulous attention to detail and commitment to community that Lisa and John embrace and they anxiously await the opportunity to share with guests.
