Bee-Amazing: Suit up for a visit to the Nomia Meadows Farm apiary just 3 miles away and learn how to bee a beekeeper! You and up to three others will be immersed in the fascinating ways of Apis mellifera (the honey bee) and help harvest, extract, bottle, and each take home your very own 13-ounce bottle of local honey! No experience required and full overall bee suit, leg ties, and gloves provided. Outing timing is approximately two-three hours. Available late June-September. Price: $100 for up to four people.
Horse and Carriage in the Country: Be whisked away by horse and carriage right from our front door, into the beautiful prairie countryside of Franklin Grove and through Franklin Creek State Park. Visit the historic Franklin Creek Grist Mill (originally built in 1847 and open April-October from noon-4 p.m.). Experience the beauty of hardwood forest, open prairie, and limestone and sandstone bluffs. Fall is a not-to-be-missed time of year to see the changing colors! Available year-round, weather permitting with blankets provided during cold weather with beverage and snack basket included for this approximately 2 hour tour.
